Returns & Refund Policy – Assembli

At Assembli, we take pride in the quality of our flatpack furniture and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If something isn’t right, the policy below explains how we can help.

14-Day Return Policy (Change of Mind)

You have 14 calendar days from the date of delivery to return an item if you’ve changed your mind.

  • Items must be unused, undamaged, and in the original packaging with all components/hardware included.
  • Return shipping is at the customer’s cost.
  • Once received and inspected, eligible refunds are processed within 7 working days.

Note: Items returned used, damaged, incomplete, or without original packaging do not qualify for a refund.

30-Day Manufacturer’s Warranty (Defective Products)

All products carry a 30-day warranty against manufacturing defects only.

  • Defects caused by incorrect use, incorrect installation/assembly, mishandling, or external damage are not covered.
  • If your product is faulty within 30 days due to a manufacturing issue, contact us immediately. We may request photos/videos to verify the issue and will advise next steps.

Damaged on Arrival

If the parcel is visibly damaged on delivery or contents were damaged in transit:

  • Contact us within 24 hours of delivery and include clear photos of the item and all external and internal packaging.
  • We will assess and, if applicable, arrange a replacement or refund.

Installation & Assembly Clause

Damage caused during self-assembly, incorrect installation, or improper use is not eligible for return, refund, or warranty replacement.

Non-Returnable Items

We cannot accept returns for:

  • Used or damaged items not caused by a manufacturing fault
  • Items returned outside the return period
  • Products returned without prior approval

Packaging Requirements

Returned items must be securely packaged to prevent transit damage. If a return arrives damaged due to inadequate packaging, the return may be rejected or a partial refund may be applied.

Return Authorisation Required

All returns must be authorised in writing before being sent back. Unauthorised returns may be refused, delayed, or returned to sender.

Restocking Fees

A restocking fee of up to 15% may apply for returns that are opened, handled beyond basic inspection, or not returned in their original condition.

Refund Method & Timeline

Refunds are processed to your original payment method once the returned item is inspected and approved. Bank/payment-provider processing times may vary.

Courier Responsibility & Lost Returns

Customers are responsible for ensuring returns are safely packaged and tracked. Assembli is not liable for returns lost or damaged in transit. We recommend using a reputable, insured courier.

Misuse of Returns Policy

We reserve the right to refuse service, returns, or refunds where our returns system is abused, false claims are submitted, or used/damaged items are returned improperly.

Collection / Drop-off Option

Returns can be dropped off at our warehouse by appointment only. Please contact us to schedule the return in advance.

How to Start a Return

Email support@decorumandco.co.za with:

  • Your order number
  • The reason for return
  • Photos/videos (if applicable)

No returns will be accepted without prior written authorisation.
